Loftus Station
Loftus Volunteer Bushfire Brigade was founded in 1954 as the Loftus Bushfire Brigade in National Avenue Loftus. We were stationed in a tin shed with one firefighting appliance.
Since then we have moved to our present location on Loftus Ave. At the time of the move the new station was a large single bay station that housed two fire appliances and a personnel carrier that was parked between.
In 2002, with the help from public fundraising, community donations and joint funding from the Rural Fire Service and Sutherland Shire Council we were again able to renovate into a modern fit for purpose fire station.
The new station housed a large front engine bay, change rooms and showers, indoor toilet facilities, meeting room, kitchen, offices and a large rear engine bay. Recreation areas and hose drying facilities were provided at the rear, along with 6 dedicated parking spaces.
